Vessel is known for its various designs and unique forms, dating back thousands of years. They were often used for ceremonial or functional purposes, for cooking or storing food/valuables or ash of the human body. Through the act of pinching clay, the connection to our earliest human ancestors and the ancient art forms led me to form vessels.
This series allowed me to rediscover the primal joy and satisfaction of working with my hands and creating something out of raw materials. I reinterpreted forms that belong different pottery cultures, especially; drawing inspiration from pottery cultures of Mesopotamia, I explored the possibilities of pinching to create both functional and decorative objects.
Rather than creating figurative pieces, I chose to embrace the unique textures and imperfections created by my own fingers, leaving my mark as a personal narrative on the surface of each piece. The resulting collection reflects both my fascination with ancient pottery techniques and my own personal journey of self-discovery through the making.
